An aspirin overdose at 3 caused her hearing loss.
Her peers bullied her because she was deaf.
As a teen she took up bodybuilding and choreography to tackle emotional turmoil and an unstable home life.
She earned a degree in Child Psychology and Special Education, and worked as a counselor.
