Why he might be annoying:

    He was on the Pittsburgh Pirates roster during the 1933 season, but never got any games in, this voiding his tenure with the team.
    He never had a fair shot to make the Pirates roster during his four seasons in the organization.
    He spent the entire 1940 season in the minor leagues.
    He drew fire from Chicago White Sox fans, after he reportedly upset a rookie pitcher by making a balk (1943).
    He tried to cover his ass when asked about his balk by claiming he was actually saying ‘hey, hey.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was left-handed.
    He excelled in baseball, basketball and football during his high school years.
    He broke through and made the Athletics roster after spending five seasons in the Pirates system.
    He recorded four hits in all four of his at-bats on Opening Day (1941).
    He was a member of the Yankees team that won the World Series (1943).
    He led the American League in home runs during the 1944 season and RBI’s during the 1945 one.
    He returned back to the Chicago area following the end of his career and served as a high-ranking executive of a construction firm.
