Why he might be annoying
After being benched for not reporting to a ball game on time, he basically said that it would hurt the Red Sox more than him.
He tends to belittle and trash talk his opponents.
He attacked the media for covering the Sammy Sosa illegal cork bat story with such zeal, claiming that if Sosa was white and not Domincan they would have lessen the story ... ever hear of Pete Rose? (June 2003).
He threw Don Zimmer to the ground during Game 3 of the 2003 AL Championship Series (October 11, 2003).
Why he might not be annoying
He is the only pitcher to defeat the NY Yankees in the 1999 post season.
He has been the most dominating pitcher in baseball since 1997.
