Why he might be annoying
He was hired to revive NBC's falling ratings, but failed to do so at the end of his tenure.
His tenure came at a time when the Writers Guild was on strike for 100 days.
He forced 'Friday Night Lights' and 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent' to switch networks from NBC to DirecTV's The 101 so that they could continue to release new episodes.
He resigned in July 2009 because he claimed he was 'seeking new ventures' and was hired by IAC/InterActiveCorp.
He and Jeff Zucker helped create a new talk show for outgoing 'Tonight Show' host Jay Leno at 10PM, depriving the network of five hours slated for scripted programming.
Why he might not be annoying
Two shows that he produced won Emmys in 2006 and 2007.
He received an honorary rose for his work at NBC at the 2008 Rose d'Or ceremony.
He graduated magna cum lade at Tufts University.
Tina Fey thanked him and Zucker for keeping her sitcom '30 Rock' on the air despite 'being more expensive than a talk show' when the program won its third Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
