    House band for Stax Records
    Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1992)
    There is debate whether 'M.G.' refers to the sports car or stands for 'Memphis Group.'
    Jackson began playing on stage with his father's jazz band at age five.
    They were invited to play Woodstock, but declined over concerns about the helicopter that would take them to the site.
    They were scheduled to be the house band at Atlantic Records' 40th Anniversary celebration, but were replaced by Paul Shaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band when Booker T. came down with food poisoning (1986).
    Jackson was called 'The Human Timekeeper' for his tight playing.
    Cropper was named second greatest guitarist of all time, behind Jimi Hendrix, by Mojo magazine (1986).
    In addition to their own songs, Jones co-wrote 'Born Under a Bad Sign' and Cropper co-wrote '(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay.'
    Jackson was shot to death in his home and the murder remains unsolved.
    Cropper and Dunn appeared in 'The Blues Brothers.'
    They were the house band for the opening ceremonies of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1995).
