    (November 5, 1983- )
    Born in Australia
    Resides in Tonga
    Tae Kwon Do expert
Represented Tonga in the 2016 Olympics in Rio
Drew international attention not for his athletic skill but for bearing his Tonga's flag during the Olympics Opening Ceremony – shirtless
    Oh Adonis!
He shares his first name with a Mediterranean pocket bread.
Try saying his last name quickly five times!
His flag carrying at the Parade of Nations part of the opening ceremonies made eyes pop.
His shirtless glory was enhanced by a coat of oil.
His wearing a Tongan mat (called a ta'ovala) around his waist didn't help that he appeared (almost) naked!
His appearance took the thunder away from Michael Phelps ' highly anticipated flag carrying for the United States in the same ceremony.
    No one noticed his necklace!
Many people weren't aware that Tae Kwan Do was an Olympic sport until they saw him!
Twitter exploded over him in a few short moments following his televised appearance.
    He has an engineering degree.
He works for many charitable causes, including coaching life skills to homeless children.
He became the first Tongan native to participate in Tae Kwon Do in the Olympics.
He pretty much won a Gold for winning hearts!
Tweets about him included: 'I knew there was a reason why I wanted to move to Tonga,' 'Oiliest & double glazed ... Gold for Tonga,' 'Tonga just gonna come out and make everyone insecure. Right on guys,' 'The little girl running like her life depended on it in Opening Ceremony is me running towards the dude from Tonga just to see him up close' and 'A shirtless Pita Taufatofua has just put Tonga on the world map!'
