    He had eleven siblings.
    He joined the air force when still in high school.
    He offended some fanatics with his sympathetic portrayal of Judas in 'Jesus Christ Superstar.'
    For years he refused to play Judas again and left the role off his resume.
    His twin brother died of bronchitis at 11 months.
    He stole 'Jesus Christ Superstar' with his edgy, political Judas.
    ‘Friends and Lovers,’ his duet with Gloria Loring, reached #2 on the charts (1986).
    In 1997 he held a concert in his hometown to help revive the riverfront.
    He was planning to perform in a revival of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' when he was diagnosed with cancer.
