Why Sky News might be annoying:

    Rupert Murdoch is an affiliate.
It has been accused of engaging in tabloid-style 'yellow journalism.'
Because they share a distributor, it has inspired comparisons to its American counterpart Fox News.
They were accused of exhibiting pro-Louise Woodward bias by airing wall-to-wall coverage of her Boston murder trial, in 1997.
They have been accused of fabricating or staging scenes for coverage on several occasions.
One expose which revealed that a report by James Furlong, with the Defense borough, contained fabricated information, resulted in his resignation (he later committed suicide).
They received complaints over their coverage of the MH17 plane disappearance, after Colin Brazier rifled through a missing passenger's luggage during a live broadcast. The network later issued a public apology (Jul. 2014).
Skype had difficulty getting an EU-wide trademark for its brand because a court deemed its name is too similar to the broadcaster (2015).
They are wholly despised by Paul Joseph Watson who has accused them of exhibiting anti-Brexit sentiment, calling them ' a cancer' and 'worse than the BBC - and that's some insult.'

Why Sky News might not be annoying:

It started out providing hourly radio news updates to networks in the UK and Ireland.
It has a reputation as more inventive and energetic than its more 'prestigious' competitor, BBC.
They won a BAFTA award for their coverage of the 2001 World Trade Center attacks.
They have been named Royal Television Society's News Channel of the Year, on ten occasions.
They beat out BBC and Al-Jazeera for Best News Channel at the Broadcast Digital Channel Awards (2007).
They won an International Emmy for Breaking News award for their 'fast and accurate' coverage of the 2005 London Bombings.
It was the first British multimedia corporation to feature embedded video content of main news, as well as social networking connections.
They were the first news organization transmit radio news reports that Mother Teresa had died (done fatefully in the middle of coverage of her good friend Princess Diana's funeral).
Sky journalist Mark Stone was detained, along with his cameraman, on live television while on assignment in Tiananmen Square for violating Chinese state censorship laws (Mar. 2013).
