Voice Actress
    (April 20, 1914-January 12, 1999)
Best known as the voice of Cruella De Vil in 'One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961)'
Acted in 'Cinderella (1950),' 'The Fly (1958),' 'Perry Mason (1958, 1959, 1961),' 'The Twilight Zone (1963)' and 'Mary Poppins (1964)'
Some have called her 'the poor man's Tallulah Bankhead' or even 'Tallulah Bankhead on speed.'
In her early career on radio, she was known as 'the Soap Opera Queen of Chicago.'
When recording the voice of Cruella De Vil, she stayed so much in character that her co-stars were frightened of her.
She came out of retirement in 1997 to do a voice for the animated flop 'Cats Don't Dance.'
Most critics prefer her interpretation of Cruella De Vil to Glenn Close's.
The character ranked #39 on AFI's list of the 50 Greatest Movie Villains.
She died of a massive stroke.
Incredibly, 'Cats Don't Dance' has a small cult following (it's a crazy world, folks).
