Wrote the Nazi Party anthem, 'Die Fanne Hoch' (aka 'The Horst Wessel Song')
Why he might be annoying
He dropped out of law school to devote himself full time to the Nazi Party.
According to historian Richter Norton, he procured prostitutes for other Nazi officials.
He may have participated in the murder of a 17-year-old Communist.
The Brownshirt journal 'Die Brunnen' declared, 'How high Horst Wessel towers over Jesus of Nazareth.'
Why he might not be annoying
He was shot in the face by a Communist, Albrecht Hohler.
Hohler was a friend of his landlady, and the murder may have been motivated by a rent dispute.
After World War II, the elaborate memorial the Nazis raised over his grave was destroyed and his song was banned in Germany.
