Hockey Player
    (July 29, 1925-March 4, 2019)
    Born in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada
Left winger for the Detroit Red Wings (1944-57, 1964-65) and the Chicago Black Hawks (1957-63)
    Art Ross Trophy winner (1950)
    His nickname was 'Terrible Ted.'
He was notorious for elbowing and kneeing players, which prompted the league to penalize players for such conduct.
He had a feud with Toronto Maple Leafs owner Conn Smythe.
His face is covered in scars, which appear visible when he is on television.
When Red Wings owner Jack Adams heard about his involvement in founding the NHLPA, he dealt him to the rival Chicago Black Hawks (1957).
He recorded over 1,800 career penalty minutes.
He was linemates with fellow Red Wing legends Sid Abel and Gordie Howe.
Despite his diminutive stature, he was widely considered one of the league's first true 'pests.'
He started the trend of skating a lap around the rink when presented with the Stanley Cup.
He made amends with the Norris family and returned to the Red Wings for his final NHL season.
Despite his status as a pest, he was known as being a clutch scorer.
