    The first song she wrote at the age eight was titled ‘Ugly Little Cabbage in the Garden.'
    She dated nerdy Much Music VJ, Christopher Ward, who was also her songwriting partner.
    Although she had multiple hits in Canada, her only US chart topper was ‘Black Velvet.'
    She had an industry reputation for being cocky and arrogant.
    She was 30 when 'Black Velvet' was released, but the press claimed her age as 23.
    She dated Robert Plant, who was 10 years older.

Why she might not be annoying:

    While growing up, she admired singers Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell.
    Her ‘cabbage' song was meant to lightheartedly tease her sister.
    Her stage attire often included sexy leather jumpsuits and mini-dresses.
    She posed nude and standing next to a horse for her sophomore album ‘Rockinghorse.'
    The single ‘Black Velvet' was a tribute to Elvis Presley.
    She won three Junos.
