Why they might be annoying:

They had a revolving door of personnel changes on both the drums and guitars.
They never received commercial exposure outside of Canada.
Their signature song 'You Can't Dance' was made an international hit by England Dan and John Ford Coley two years after the band's initial recording.
Dan Seals found some of the lyrics in the band's version too silly and changed them considerably in his version.
They disbanded due to Tim Ryan's displeasure with the music industry.

Why they might not be annoying:

They took their band name from the surnames of their maternal grandfathers.
They were initially members of a garage band in their hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, before signing a record deal with CBS Records.
They were popular in their home province of Ontario.
Tim and Bob wrote the majority of the band's song catalog.
