Why he might be annoying
He flunked out of one seminary and barely graduated from another.
Because of his poor grades he was forbidden to preach or hear confessions.
He had a strange high-pitched voice.
He never learned how to drive.
Why he might not be annoying
He usually went by Barney.
Two of his sisters, two of his brothers, and two cousins all died young.
He spent up to 16 hours per day counseling thousands of people during his career including protestants, non-Christians, protestant ministers and Jewish rabbis.
His parents met at a Fourth of July picnic.
He once wrote 'I have two loves, the sick and the poor.'
He established a soup kitchen in Detroit during the Depression.
He suffered from arthritis, eczema, and psoriasis in his old age.
Before becoming a priest he worked at a variety of jobs including logger, street car operator, prison guard and hospital orderly.
While working as a prison guard ,he met Cole Younger of the James Younger gang; after being paroled, Younger toured the lecture circuit and gave Casey much credit for his conversion to Christianity.
He died, 53 years to the hour after becoming a priest.
