The Resume

    (May 25, 1913-September 24, 1992)
    Born in Buford, Georgia
Birth name was Brownie Mae Humphrey
    Tupperware Vice-President (1951-58)
Headed the sales division, Tupperware Home Parties

Why she might be annoying:

She dropped out of school after the 8th grade.
She had an almost cult-like following among her sales force, who would compete to win her used dresses..
She ran a side business of selling self-help books at company events.
President Earl Tupper fired her for allegedly taking too much credit for the company’s success.
She filed a $1.3 million wrongful termination suit, but settled for a single year’s salary, $30,000.
She tried to launch a cosmetics company, Cinderella, using a Tupperware-style home party marketing system, but was unsuccessful.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her ex-husband was a violent drunk who stalked her.
She convinced Earl Tupper to sell his product solely through Tupperware Parties.
She was the first woman on the cover of Business Week (1954).
The Houston Post wrote, ‘It has been estimated that Bonnie Wise has helped more women to financial success than any other single living person.’ (1956)
After her firing, Earl Tupper systematically removed every reference to her in company literature.
