His 'Some Kinda Earthquake' was the shortest ever Top 40 single, clocking in at one minute, 17 seconds.
He said of his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 'Now I got a place to leave all my old stuff.'

He was the first rock musician with a signature guitar model, Guild Guitar's Duane Eddy DE-400 and DE-500 (1960).
He dethroned Elvis as 'World's Number One Music Personality' in New Music Express (1960).
He was the second recipient of Guitar Player magazine's 'Legend Award' (2004).
John Fogerty called him 'the first real guitar god in rock and roll.'
