Her name can also mean a harvester of rear ends.
    She never completed high school.
Her cooking school had a high tuition rate; only upper class women could afford to attend.
She dined at fine restaurants to learn new recipes. If a chef would not share the secret to a recipe she would take some of it back to the cooking school laboratory to have its ingredient's analyzed.
She suffered a stroke in her teens and took years to recover, developing a permanent limp.
Her 1896 cookbook became so popular it was simply referred to as the Fannie Farmer Cookbook.
She paid for printing costs herself to retain the book's copyrights, which made her wealthy.
She innovated exact measurements in her recipes rather than adhering to the accepted practice of improvising, such as 'four pinches of salt' and 'two handfuls of flour.'
