Musician
    (September 19, 1945- )
    Born in Newport News, Virginia
Birth name is George Austin Robertson, Jr.
Recorded 'Something's Wrong With Me' and 'Rocky'
He is a two hit wonder.
In 1967 he wrote the very forgotten song 'Rose Peddles (sic) Everywhere She Goes,' recorded by the very forgotten group the Virginia Wolves, that's been, errr, all but forgotten.
His song 'Ricky Ticky Ta Ta Ta' was heard by a production team for Hanna and Barbera, who was trying to find a sound for a fictious cartoon band called the 'Mysteries Five,' but they deep sixed the band concept and turned it into 'Scooby-Do, Where Are You!'
While his version of 'Keep On Singing' tanked, Helen Reddy took it to the top of the Adult Contemporary chart in 1974.
He went through a half dozen record labels before calling it a career in the 1980s.
He did end up working for Hanna and Barbera, providing some of the music for the 1970-71 Saturday morning TV cartoon series 'Josie and the Pussycats.'
He also provided some voices and singing during chase scenes for the second season of 'Scooby-Do, Where Are You!'
'Something's Wrong With Me' reached #12 on Billboard's Singles chart in 1972, and 'Rocky' reached #9 in 1975.
'Rocky,' a song about a couple who were beginning a happy life together until the girl contracted a terminal illness, ushered in a '70s music genre known a 'teardrop rock.'
He co-wrote the song 'Over You' with Bobby Hart (of Boyce & Hart fame), which was used in the 1983 Robert Duvall film 'Tender Mercies,' and was nominated for the 1984 Academy Award for 'Best Original Song.'
