The Resume

    (June 19, 2002- )
NWA stands for National Wrestling Alliance
TNA stands for Total Nonstop Action
Based in Nashville, Tennessee (2002- ) and Orlando, Florida (2004- )
Owned and operated by Jeff and Jerry Jarrett
Second largest wrestling promotion behind WWE
'Impact!' on FOX Sports (June 4, 2004)

Why TNA - Total Non-Stop Action might be annoying:

Compared to the WWE, they seem like the 'minor leagues.'
They are geared to the southern demographic, having Toby Keith sing and crown the first NWA TNA World Champion (June 19, 2002).
They exploit a NASCAR connection, displaying NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler in an attempt to wrestle. They hired FOX NASCAR analyst Jeff Hammond as a commentator (July 2004).
Commentator Ed Ferrara said 'Getting into a fight with Ken Shamrock is like running in the Special Olympics, you've got to be retarded to do it.'
They hired former Home Shopping Network salesman Don West to do color commentary. His lacking wrestling knowledge and experience was obvious.
Their wrestling stable was made up of many guys fired by the WWE.
When NWA-TNA merged, NWA stripped Dan Severn of his championship so they can have a new champion. It was promoted as the 'Gauntlet For The Gold.'
Ken Shamrock was the first NWA-TNA champ (2002).
Jeff Jarrett gave himself the NWA Title three times.
They promise to be a family-friendly wrestling-oriented alternative, but became a poor imitation of the WWE. They hired Vince Russo mere weeks after the federation began, further breaking that promise.
Dusty Rhodes is a continuing fixture of the wrestling promotion.
Using a weekly pay-per-view format had cost the company loses of up to $35,000 per week.
It took almost two years to sign a cable TV deal.
They hired Survivor's Jon Dalton (Jonny Fairplay).
Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher made a a one-time appearance.
Ultimate Warrior refused to work for them, predicting that TNA would die sooner than later.

Why TNA - Total Non-Stop Action might not be annoying:

Commentator Ed Ferrara was fired for his thoughtless remarks about mentally handicapped people.
'IMPACT!' debuted as FOX Sports Net's second-highest rated show, only behind 'The Best Damn Sports Show Period.'
They have very creativity nicknames such as 'The Alpha Male' Monty Brown and 'Charismatic Enigma' Jeff Hardy.
Many 'hardcore' wrestling fans believe TNA is a better product than WWE.
TNA girl, Lollipop, was topless on a TNA pay-per-view.
Former WWE one-legged wrestler Zach Gowen started in TNA, under the name 'Tenacious Z.'
Jonny Fairplay has plugged TNA on the 'Survivor' cast reunion special.
    They emphasize wrestling, not talk.
They provided an alternative to WWE.
They created 'Clockwork Orange House of Fun' and the extremely popular 'Ultimate X.'
They have an advanced, interactive website.
TNA created the 'X Division' for their smaller, more athletic wrestlers, using the tagline 'It's not about weight limits, it's about no limits.'
