Why he might be annoying
He repeated his sophomore year of high school.
Despite a very impressive tryout, he was cut from the Broughton High School basketball team for attitude-related issues.
As a result, he transfered from Broughton High School to Word of God Christian Academy.
While playing for Kentucky, he was known for his own nefarious dance called 'John Wall Dance' – turning his right arm in a biceps
flex,' then rotating his hand out.
He was suspended by the NCAA from Kentucky's first exhibition game and first regular season game, for travel benefits he received from his AAU coach, Brian Clifton, who was a certified agent at the time.
He forewent his three remaining years of collegiate eligibility to enroll in the NBA Draft.
Why he might not be annoying
His father was in prison for most of his childhood for robbery.
His father died from liver cancer one month after being released from prison in 1999.
His mother worked in several jobs just to support him.
In high school, he played in the Elite 24 Hoops Classic, where he scored ten points and was named co-MVP.
During a Wildcats game against rival North Carolina Tar Heels, he helped his team recover from blowing a double digit lead to win the game 68-66 despite feeling cramps in his legs.
He was named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2010 Las Vegas Summer League.
He recorded his first career triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists, and six steals becoming the second rookie since Magic Johnson to record a triple double with six steals.
Wall was the third youngest player to record a triple-double in NBA history.
