Why he might be annoying:

He had to lie to protect his true identity.
He failed to sabotage some of the games, due to the smarts of the other players.
In a blatant attempt at sabotage, he told newly-engaged Heather that she had a 50% chance of being divorced in the future (talk about cruel).
Lame hidden clues pointing to him included references to ships, William (Bill) Shakespeare and dollar bills.
One clue even blatantly said 'Bill is the Mole.'
Many savvy audience members picked up on the fact that he was the Mole early on.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a distinguished admiral.
He was picked to be the Mole partly due to the fact that people naturally trusted him, given his background.
He managed to fool most of the other players (if not the audience).
