    Drafted 18th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1953 NFL Draft
    Fullback/halfback for the Calgary Stampeders (CFL) (1953), San Francisco 49ers (1954-1956), Detroit Lions (1957-1959), Pittsburgh Steelers (1960-1965) and the Houston Oilers (1966)
    Four Pro Bowl selections (1954, 1962-1964)
    Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame (1987)
    Despite being drafted by the Steelers in the NFL Draft, he didn't get to play for them until 1960.
    He frequently fumbled the ball.
    He was beaten by his teammate Joe Perry for the 1954 NFL rushing title.
    He ended his playing career with a losing Oilers team.
    He was part of the 'Million Dollar Backfield' with the 49ers.
    He was a member of the Lions team that won the 1957 NFL Championship.
    He was the first player in Steelers history to run for 1,000 yards in one season; he did it twice.
    He excelled in blocking and running in the NFL.
