Born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Female dromedary camel born at the Camel Reproduction Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Born after an 'uncomplicated' gestation of 378 days
    World's first successfully cloned camel
    Injaz means 'achievement' in Arabic
She was created by ovarian cells injected from a dead camel into a surrogate mother.
Testing indicates her DNA matches the dead mom, not the surrogate mom. (Is this good or bad news?)
The CRC's scientific director stated, 'This significant breakthrough in our research program gives a means of preserving the valuable genetics of our elite racing and milk-producing camels in the future.' (Indicating if you've seen one camel you HAVEN'T seen them all.)
Seriously, did you even know there was such an entity as the Camel Reproduction Center?
She had no say in her coming into existence.
There were many failed attempts at cloning a camel before her successful birth.
She came from an egg of an adult camel slaughtered for its meat in 2005, so she'll never get to meet her 'real mom.'
She has helped the Camel Reproduction Center with its ultimate goal of using the technique to preserve elite bloodlines for future racing camels.
