    His name was hard to pronounce ('Bor-ZAY-gee').

    'Bad Girl,' the second film he won the Oscar for, had no bad girl in it.
    It is rumored that he won his Oscars because of his social connections rather than his talent.
    He pioneered the use of soft-focus photography.
    He won Oscars for directing both a silent film and a talkie.
    He starred in most of the early silent films he directed.
