Why he might be annoying:

X-Men fans were outraged when it was announced that he was directing the third film in the series.
He vowed that he would not direct movies until he had directed one hundred music videos.
He was attached to direct 'Superman Returns' but left after delays and trouble in getting a lead actor.
He directed the awful 'These Boots are Made for Walkin' video for Jessica Simpson.
He lives in Beverly Hills with his grandparents.
He likes to open his movies with a character singing.

Why he might not be annoying:

He went to NYU.
He's directed more than one hundred music videos for artists such as Madonna, Jay-Z, Wu Tang Clan, Mary J. Blige and Public Enemy.
One of his hobbies is still photography, and some of his photos have appeared in Vanity Fair.
A short film he made at NYU called 'Whatever Happened to Mason Reese' received funding from Steven Spielberg's company Amblin Entertainment.
He frequently casts Don Cheadle.
He dated Serena Williams.
He ranked #81 in Premiere Magazine's Annual Power List (2003).
