Hockey Coach
    (October 28, 1963- )
Born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada
Forward for the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes (1984-91, 1995-99), Philadelphia Flyers (1991-95), Ottawa Senators (1999-2000) and the Columbus Blue Jackets (2000-03)
Head coach of the Florida Panthers (2011-13) and the Canadian Women's Olympic Ice Hockey Team (2014)
He had a nomadic childhood as a result of his father's job.
He was relatively inconsistent as a player.
He went long spurts between Stanley Cup Playoff appearances as a result of playing on poor Whalers teams.
He was extremely injury prone throughout his career.
He made himself out to be a hypocrite after he was arrested for drinking and driving, when years earlier he tried to convince teammate Steve Chiasson to take a taxi home when the latter drove home impaired in a decision that would cost him his life.
Despite having dual citizenship of both Canada and the United States, he played for Canada in international competition.
He was the final captain of the Hartford Whalers and the first captain of the Carolina Hurricanes.
He had his #11 honored by the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, years after the Whalers left the city.
He was a member of the inaugural Columbus Blue Jackets roster.
He followed in the footsteps of his father, Bill, who coached hockey at various levels.
