    Co-creator of the comic character 'Superman'

Why he might be annoying:

    He sold the rights to 'Superman' for $60,000.
    He became angered with DC comics and went to work for their competition.
    He bankrupted himself trying to sue DC Comics.
    When his money ran out his wife begged DC Comics to give him work.
    He based the character of 'Superman' on a character called 'Gladiator' he once read about.
    He sometimes worked under the name 'Joe Carter.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    He and Joe Shuster began the 'Golden Age' of comic books.
    He co-created a character that gives its readers a sense of morality and inspires them to do good.
    Warner Communications recognized his part in creating the 'Superman' franchise by paying him $35,000 for the rest of his life (1975).
    He continued to work in the comic book industry until his death, despite his treatment at the hands of publishers.
