    Recorded 'Somebody’s Knockin,' 'Rich Man,' 'Misr’y River,' 'Ashes To Ashes' and 'Anybody Else’s Heart But Mine'
    She is a pop chart one hit wonder.
    She started her career as part of the Terri Gibbs Trio, playing music at the chain restaurant Steak & Ale in Augusta, Georgia.
    She became a born-again Christian in 1980, and switched from country music to gospel music in 1986.
    She was nominated for two Grammys, one for country and one for gospel music, without winning.
    In 1990 she quit the music business altogether, but announced her comeback in 2010.
    Her mother gave birth to her prematurely and she was born blind.
    She became a protégé of Chet Atkins, who encouraged her to move to Nashville and keep playing and writing songs non-stop.
    'Somebody's Knockin' was a huge crossover hit for her in 1981, reaching reaching #8 on the U.S. country chart, #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
    She received the inaugural Horizon Award from the Country Music Association for new artist of the year in 1981.
    That same year the Academy of Country Music named her New Female Vocalist of the Year.
    During 1981-82 she toured with and sang duets with country legend George Jones.
    After nearly 20 years of marriage, her husband and father of her only child died in February 2008.
