Actress
    (August 18, 1951- )
    Born in Houston, Texas
Portrayed Pam in 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (1974)
Also appeared in 'The Cellar' (2009) and 'Cousin Sarah' (2011)
Ironically (considering the film she is remembered for), she claims 'I'm a bit squeamish.'
She said, 'For many years, I was very critical of my work in [Texas Chainsaw Massacre] and could not watch it at all.'
She had a reputation as a recluse since it took three decades before she gave any interviews about 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.'
After hitting the horror film convention circuit, she said 'I realized once I 'came out,' it's very time-consuming being Pam.'
After 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' went past schedule and over budget, she did four extra weeks of often grueling filming for 'deferred salary.' ('I was paid 600 bucks when it went to video in 1985.')
Art director Bob Burns said about the scene where Pam was hung on a meat hook, 'When she was screaming, she was screaming in pain. All they had to hold her up was a strip of nylon stocking and it was cutting her in two.'
After filming Pam struggling to escape Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen), 'I was unable to walk, talk or even turn over in my bed. That's what happens when you fight a 300-pound man for ten hours.'
She denied having been a recluse, saying that she had been busy with careers as an event planner, a florist, and a hotel manager: 'When you run any business, especially your own, you can't just take off whenever you like to do interviews and conventions.'
She said about being recognized, 'People actually whisper in crowded rooms, ’Did you know? She’s the girl on the hook from, ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’? The ORIGINAL!’ I just have to smile. After all, who would have thought that this little film would become a cult classic?'
