Why he might be annoying
He has enormous ears.
He is extremely injury prone.
He was inconsistent as the Eskimos starting quarterback.
Like Drew Bledsoe the year before, Ricky Ray uprooted him as the starting quarterback and led the team to the Grey Cup (2002).
When Ray bolted for the NFL, Eskies fans felt Maas was too inconsistent and chanted 'We Want Ray' the first few weeks of the season.
Why he might not be annoying
He didn't mind being backup to Ricky Ray in Edmonton.
He was instrumental in leading the Eskimos to two comeback victories in the 2005 playoffs.
He lives year-round in Edmonton.
He was raised by a single mother after his father passed away in 1985.
