    During a discussion of human rights violations at Guantanamo Bay, he ordered the reporters to stop transcriptions, C-Span cameras to stop recording, and the discussion be stopped, when he believed Democrats and witnesses were bringing up things that were irrelevant.
    He voted against providing aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
    He believes broadcasters who violate decency codes should be criminally prosecuted.
    He was named number 2 on a list of the '10 Worst Congressmen.' (2006)
    He was the only Republican to join Nancy Pelosi's delegation to meet with the Dalai Lama during Tibet’s protests against the Chinese government.
    He jokingly said that his theme song should be 'Who Let the Dogs Out.'
