    They were a one-hit wonder.
By the time 'When I'm With You' became a hit in the US, the band had been defunct for four years.
Lanni and Hansel had formed a band called Frozen Ghost and refused to revive Sheriff, with Lanni saying, 'It died in 1985. Now all of a sudden people want to exploit Sheriff... To me it's history, and I'd rather see it dead.'
Curci, DeMarchi and Elliot considered calling their new band Sheriff II before settling on Alias.
Lanni wrote 'When I'm With You' as a Valentine's Day gift for his girlfriend.
She must have like it -- they got married two years later.
Curci made the Guinness Book of Records for holding the longest note in a pop song for final note of 'When I'm With You.'
'When I'm With You' was successfully revived by DJ Jay Taylor at KLUC in Las Vegas, who said, 'I always thought it should have been a big hit. When we put it back on the air, the response was tremendous.'
