Why he might be annoying:

He was probably only elected because the citizens of Rome rioted, demanding an Italian Pope.
He became a tyrannical dictator after being elected Pope.
Many believe he was insane.
When the College of Cardinals saw this, they elected another Pope while Urban VI still reigned.
This caused the 'Western Schism' which nearly tore the Church apart.
He called his rival Pope, Clement VII, the Antichrist and had him excommunicated.
He sold church property to raise money for wars.
He died by falling off a mule.

He was elected unanimously.
He restored the papacy to Rome from Avignon, France.
There were rumors he was poisoned by the Roman people.
