    (February 2, 1948- )
    Raised in Stamford, Connecticut
Resides in Connecticut and East Hampton, New York
Host of 'Barefoot Contessa' on the Food Network
Owned and operated Barefoot Contessa, a gourmet food shop (1978-1996)
Author of 'The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook (1999)'
Her name is Ina (rhymes with 'vagina').
Although she claims her recipes are healthy, she is quite pudgy.
She called her store by the odd name 'Barefoot Contessa' (which comes from a Humphrey Bogart movie).
After spending many years building her store into a success, she sold it to her employees, who closed it.
Even though the store no longer exists, she still uses the name for her show and books.
Her recipes are simple and delicious.
She has a mellow, motherly screen presence.
Before becoming a professional cook, she was a budget analyst in the Ford and Carter White Houses.
Steven Spielberg is a huge fan.
