TV Series
    (March 21, 2006- )
    Born in Toronto, Canada
Cycle One; hosted by Tricia Helfer (May 31, 2006–July 19, 2006), winner: Andrea Muizelaar
Cycle Two, Hosted by Jay Manuel (May 30, 2007–July 18, 2007), winner: Rebecca Hardy
Premise: Young women compete for the title of ‘Canada’s Next Top Model’ which includes a modeling contract
The first season’s host, model Tricia Helfer, didn’t return to host the second season to continue her acting career.
The first season’s winner, Andrea Muizelaar, left the fashion world shortly after her televised win to return to school and become a dental assistant.
The series is very product placement heavy.
By the end of Cycle 2’s season finale, the series hadn’t sent their contestants off to a foreign locale for the latter part of the contest like its American counterpart.
The second season had the final contestants do a nude photo shoot for their first assignment.
The second season gave America’s Next Top Model’s longtime creative director Jay Manuel a well-deserved chance to host a series outside Tyra's shadow.
Despite being produced in Canada, the show doesn’t appear low budget.
The Canada version of the series shows that cattiness, jealousy and drama are not exclusively American traits.
The first season’s opening sequence boldly declared ‘Now It’s Our Turn’ in response to the success of America’s Next Top Model.
