Why he might be annoying
His nickname was Bucky.
His soap opera character was named after him.
He was nominated for three Soap Opera Digest Awards, winning zero times.
He ran himself over with a John Deere tractor, busting ribs and collapsing a lung in the process (May 10, 1993).
He retired from his soap character, and acting, at the end of 1998, stating 'I never got hate mail in my life until they changed Clint Buchanan.'
He was coaxed into an occasional Clint Buchanan appearance until his character was given to another actor in 2004.
Why he might not be annoying
He acted in the pilot episode of 'The Wild Wild West.'
He taught Tom Selleck how to ride a horse.
He purchased a 60-acre California horse ranch in 1980 that he shared with numerous dogs and cats (and horses).
His 'OLTL' co-star Erika Slezak successfully fought not to have his character recast while he recovered from his tractor mishap.
He humorously portrayed his soap character in a 1994 episode of 'Roseanne.'
In a 'back in time' sequence on the soap, he had six of his own horses transported for filming on location in Arizona.
While his pacemaker surgery was successful, a blood clot later developed and traveled to his brain, killing him.
