The Resume

    (February 4, 1930-December 1, 2015)
    Born in San Francisco, California
Power forward for the Boston Celtics (1955-64)
Career totals of 3,156 points and 2,848 rebounds

Why he might be annoying:

He was drafted by the Celtics as an enforcer: ‘If somebody stood in my way, I'd knock them down. Even if they didn't stand in my way, but if they were bothering another player, they'd have to deal with me.’
He was nicknamed ‘Jungle Jim’ for his physical style of play.
Although he was a part time player (average of 58 games per season), he averaged 219 fouls a season.
Bob Cousy said, ‘He instilled fear in me – and I was on his team!’

Why he might not be annoying:

He played on seven championship teams with the Celtics.
He scored the points that won the Celtics their first championship, two free throws in overtime to defeat the St. Louis Hawks (1957).
He asked that his number not be retired, so when the Celtics wanted to honor him, they hung a banner with his nickname ‘Loscy’ from the rafters of Boston Garden.
He and his wife opened a children’s day camp after he retired from the NBA.
