    It was rumored (in a parody) in Outsport that Youppi! is gay.
    His name contains an exclamation point.
    His name is often misspelled as Youppii, Youppil, Youppee, etc.
    He has facial hair.
    He has never been to a World Series game.
    The Expos have described his gender as unknown, yet he has a beard and moustache and is masculine in appearance.
    He appeared at a game with an awful turnout of 1,000 fans (2,134 tickets sold - September 5, 2002).
    He is charitable, often helping out delivering Christmas baskets and makes many hospital visits during the year.
    Children entering the game are given a Youppi! sticker with their seat location, helping to locate missing kids.
    He was so popular that when the Expos folded, he was brough back with the Canadiens.
