She is a self-described manic depressive who was first in line for Prozac when it was introduced.
She admits to be an abuser of numerous drugs and alcohol.
Her first overdose was at 12.
She was a teen-aged self-mutilator, using razor blades and knives.
She smokes.
She is suicidal.
She threatened in her autobiography, 'Bitch,' to 'confess intimate details of my life to complete strangers.'
She carries out that threat in many things that she writes.
She has a Skull & 'FTW' tattoo on her back.
She has a navel and nose piercing.

Why she might not be annoying:

She admires suicidal women of literature (Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath).
She graduated Harvard.
She posed topless with an upraised middle finger on the hardcover edition of 'Bitch.'
She survived painful PhotoShop nipple-ectomy on the aforementioned cover.
She had sex on a desk while working at 'The New Yorker.'
She described Britney Spears as 'all tits and ass' whose music is 'damn near unlistenable.'
