Hockey Player

The Resume

    (May 29, 1988- )
    Born in Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Drafted 69th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft
Goaltender for the Columbus Blue Jackets (2008-13) and the Philadelphia Flyers
    Calder Trophy Winner (2009)

Why he might be annoying:

Despite being touted as a high draft prospect, he was plagued with knee injuries during his formative years.
While playing for Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship, he was unaware he was traded at the Christmas break.
As a result of this, the Canadian Hockey League instituted 'The Steve Mason rule' to prevent players who are participating in an IIHF event from being unknowingly traded by their junior clubs.
Despite a stellar NHL season, he fizzled out quickly during the team's inaugural playoff run.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is left handed.
He backstopped Canada to their fourth consecutive World Junior Hockey Championship gold medal (2008).
He guided the Blue Jackets to their first winning season along with the franchise's first Stanley Cup Playoffs appearance.
His stellar play during the 2008-09 season made former franchise goaltender Pascal LeClaire expendable.
