TV Series
    (March 23, 1991-December 3, 1994)
Melissa Joan Hart as Clarissa Darling
    Jason Zimbler as Ferguson Darling
    Sean O'Neal as Sam Anders
    Elizabeth Hess as Janet Darling
    Joe O'Connor as Marshall Darling
Premise: The life of a teenage girl in Ohio
    Aired on Nickelodeon
Like many Nickelodeon sitcoms, it featured story lines that were over the top and borderline cartoonish.
Hart is the only cast member who had much acting success after the show.
Clarissa was somehow able to create video games on her early 90's PC, which often involved her torturing her brother.
It paved the way for cheesy, pre-teen girly sitcoms like 'Lizzie McGuire' and 'Hannah Montana.'
A spin-off of the series featuring an adult Clarissa in the working world never got off the ground.
Unlike most shows of its type, it wasn't aimed specifically towards teen girls.
It dealt with relatively serious issues in a unique and humorous way.
Hart would often break the fourth wall.
It was the first show broadcast on Nickelodeon's popular 'SNICK' lineup.
Despite being a kids' show, it was able to sneak in some 'adult' jokes.
