Born in Washington, District of Columbia
    Jon Spencer, guitar and vocals
Julia Cafritz, guitar and vocals (1985-89)
    John Hamill, drums (1985)
    Bob Bert, drums (1985-90)
    Christina Martinez, guitar (1985-87)
    Neil Hagerty, guitar (1985-87,1988-90)
    Kurt Wolf, guitar (1987-88)
Recorded the albums 'Right Now!' (1987), 'Dial M for Motherfucker' (1989) and 'Historia De La Musica Rock' (1990)
Their playing was deliberately crude and their lyrics deliberately offensive.
Martinez had shown up to take photos for an EP cover when Spencer invited her to join the band, despite her lack of musical experience. (Not that it was much of a hindrance.)
Their lineup had as many as four guitarists, who often seemed to each be playing a completely different song.
'The Boston Phoenix' wrote, 'This is the kind of band Pussy Galore were: the best thing about them were their album covers and their song titles.'
In an episode of House, Gregory House plays their song 'Kicked Out' to induce a seizure in a patient.
Their influences included the Velvet Underground and New York Dolls.
Bob Bert was formerly a member of Sonic Youth.
They parodied Washington's hardcore scene in the song 'HC Rebellion.'
They reunited for a performance at Yo La Tengo's annual Hanukkahpalooza benefit (2011).
