Why he might be annoying
He was expelled from Game 7 of the 1985 World Series for complaining about the umpiring.
He was so furious, he demolished the clubhouse toilet with a baseball bat.
During the 'Pittsburgh drug trials' he admitted to using cocaine (1985).
He had an injury-plagued 1986 season, including an injury suffered during batting practice, which was particularly pointless since pitchers do not bat in the AL.
He complained, 'There are three hundred thousand sportswriters and they're all against me. Every one.'
Why he might not be annoying
He lived up to his self-proclaimed 'One tough Dominican' title when he won Game 7 of the 1982 World Series despite having suffered a knee injury when he was hit by a ball during his Game 3 victory.
During his best season (1984), he lead the league in wins (20) and shutouts (4) and was named NL Comeback Player of the Year.
He never gave up a grand slam during his career, but did hit one (May 15, 1984).
He has been active in youth baseball programs and hurricane relief in his native country.
