The Resume

    (September 23, 1907-December 2, 1949)
    Born in Chicago, Illinois
    Boogie-woogie piano player
Songs include 'Swanee River Boogie' and 'Boogie Woogie Stomp'
Appeared in the film 'Boogie Woogie Dream' (1944)

Why he might be annoying:

For much of his career, he had to work as a cab driver to make ends meet.
When police raided the speakeasies where he played, he would hide outside the window. When the cops left, he would climb back inside and finish off any non-empty jugs of booze that were left.
He had to stop playing for several years after he severed a fingertip while making a sandwich (1941).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the first artist signed to the legendary jazz label Blue Note (1939).
His son Gene also became a jazz musician (tenor sax) and the two played together on sessions with singer Sippie Wallace.
He played at the inauguration of Harry Truman (1949).
