    (circa 1973- )
    Born in United States
    Resided in Ness City, Kansas
Lived for two years, without leaving, in the bathroom of a friend's home (c. 2006-March 2008)
Was discovered by authorities with her body fused to a toilet seat due to continuous sitting (March 2008)
She began to spend increased amounts of time in her boyfriend's bathroom before deciding to remain there permanently, depending on him for food and clothing he'd give to her.
Kory McFarren, her boyfriend, stated that he would regularly ask her to leave his bathroom but that she would refuse to do so.
Babcock's out of town relatives were concerned about her, but over time she and McFarren gradually reduced communication with them and others.
Authorities suspected that for at least one month before her discovery, she sat on the toilet 24 hours a day without getting off.
She developed open sores in her hip area which adhered her to the toilet seat, and some of her skin began growing into the seat.
After McFarren decided to contact police about her situation, she was discovered in a disoriented state and refused to cooperate with the authorities about leaving her home.
The toilet seat she sat on had to be removed with a pry bar, and doctors later surgically removed the seat at a hospital.
Due to continuous sitting on the toilet, she developed a leg infection which caused nerve damage and left her at risk of being wheelchair bound.
Some people questioned the amount of media attention and humor she received, considering her suspected mental health issues.
One of the sheriffs who investigated her situation was Bryan Whipple, causing some to find humorus comparisons of the sheriff to the Mr. Whipple advertising icon portrayed by Dick Wilson.
She was suspected of having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder stemming from childhood abuse which included being frequently confined indoors.
She received psychiatric as well as physical evaluations and treatment while hospitalized.
Her boyfriend McFarren was suspected of possibly having mental health or disability issues.
McFarren stated that for part of her time period in his bathroom, she would regularly bathe and change to clean clothes he gave her.
McFarren was later charged with the mistreatment of a dependent adult regarding her situation (March 2008).
She received empathy from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder survivors, and her situation educated people about PTSD and its stereotypes.
