Wrote 500 songs including 'Back Door Man,' 'Bring It On Home,' 'Diddy Wah Diddy,' 'Evil,' 'Help Me,' 'Hoochie Coochie Man,' 'I Ain't Superstitious,' 'I Can't Quit You, Babe,' 'I Just Want To Make Love To You,' 'I'm Ready,' 'Little Red Rooster,' 'My Babe,' 'Seventh Son,' 'Spoonful,' 'Wang Dang Doodle,' 'You Can't Judge A Book By The Cover' and 'You Shook Me'
Inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame (1980)
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an early influence (1994)

Why he might be annoying:

At age twelve, he went to jail for breaking and entering.
He had a career as a boxer that ended after four fights when he was suspended for brawling with his manager in the Golden Gloves commissioner's office (1936).
He spent a year in jail for refusing to serve in the army during WWII.
As a performer, he had only one song make the R&B charts, 'Walking the Blues' (1955).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was called 'the poet laureate of the blues.'
His songs were hits for blues greats such as Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, then became staples for rock bands like the Rolling Stones, Cream and Led Zeppelin.
He had to sue his publishers to get back royalties for his songs and Led Zeppelin to get credited for 'Whole Lotta Love,' which had copied his 'You Need Love.'
He founded the Blues Heaven Foundation to secure royalties for blues musicians who had been exploited.
