Outfielder/1st baseman for the San Francisco Giants (1958-63), Milwaukee Braves (1964-65), Atlanta Braves (1966-69), Oakland Athletics (1970-71) , New York Yankees (1971-73), Montreal Expos (1973) and the Milwaukee Brewers (1974)
Manager for the Montreal Expos and the San Francisco Giants (2003-06)
National League Manager of the Year (1994)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was a journeyman player.
Despite his surname being Rojas, he was signed as Felipe Alou when a Giants scout assumed it to be his actual surname.
    He is divorced and remarried.
He turned down more money and a stable situation to manage the Los Angeles Dodgers by staying in a dysfunctional situation in Montreal (1998).
Despite his popularity with Expos players and fans alike, he was unceremoniously dismissed by then Expos owner Jeffrey Loria , who replaced him with close friend Jeff Torborg.
Many Montreal area sportswriters claim his firing was the last straw for longtime Expo fans, who lost even more interest in the team.
His managerial tenure in San Francisco was widely considered a disappointment.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the father of fellow outfielder Moises Alou.
He, along with his brothers Jesus and Matty, became the first all-sibling outfield tandem in MLB history (1963).
He overcame an impoverished childhood in the Dominican Republic to become a professional athlete.
He originally intended to go to university to pursue a career in medicine before taking up track and field and later on baseball.
He is the first Dominican born manager in MLB history.
He earned the honor of managing the National League at the All-Star Game the following season as a result of his NL Manager of the Year accolade the previous season (1995).
