    (circa 59 BC-circa 17)
    Born in Padua, Italy
    Roman historian
Most well known work is 'Ab Urbe Condita Libri' translated into English as 'Books from the city having been founded' a history of Rome from 753 BC to the time of Augustus Caesar
    Full name: Titus Livius
His years of birth and death are not precisely known.
There is considerable confusion over the dates he gives for events in his writings; some are clearly wrong, some clearly correct, and others unknown. In addition, he (and his transcribers/translators) used differing dating methods in his works.
Ab Urbe Condita Libri is his only work to survive and only about a third of it still exists.
He spent almost his entire life from the approximate age of 32 on writing 'Ab Urbe Condita Libri.'
He was well educated in Rome.
He supported the Roman Republic over the rule of the Caesars and didn't mind saying so.
He used several writing styles in his history of Rome; chronology, narrative, etc.
In addition to his writings, he was respected as a philosopher and orator.
He didn't go overboard working the gods and mythology in his writing.
The popularity of 'Ab Urbe Condita Libri' has remained constant from when he first wrote it to the present day and is considered among the greatest histories ever written.
