After recording a James Bond cover in a 1993 charity album and a cover of a Wire song in a Wire tribute album in 1996, the band disappeared.
Lead vocalist Dave Conway and keyboardist Tina quit the group before the band got critical success (1987).
They fared better when Bilinda replaced Dave (1988).
The costs for recording 'Loveless' (500,000 pounds) were so expensive that it almost bankrupted record label Creation Records (1990).
Kevin Shields told NPR they signed a contract with Island Records, but Island was not willing to fund the group.
After 'Loveless,' they allegedly recorded two albums in Kevin's homemade recording studio, but they were scrapped (1993-1995?).
The guitars are noisy and it is hard to hear the lyrics clearly.
They are the best known group in the Shoegazer movement of the '90s.
Their music was original and a different alternative to that of their era.
Kevin Shields played with a techno band called Experimental Audio Research (1996).
They evolved from wannabe goth to developing a 'shoegaze' style.
Kevin contributed music to 'Lost In Translation' (2003).
Debbie formed indie group Snowpony (1997).
