He had dreamed of being a Disney animator all his life, then quit the job soon after getting it because it was 'too boring.'
He is the creator of the god-awful 'Rock-A-Doodle.'
Many of his animated films end up having terrible sequels ('The Land Before Time' series anyone?).
Most of his films have not been box-office successes.

He is a direct descendant of Pocahontas.
He resigned from his job in Disney to create his own independent animation company.
He is one of the most respected animators in the country.
His film, 'The Secret of NIMH,' is hailed among animation buffs as a classic.
